Day 1  Omaha’s German-American Society
We begin at the German-American Society with dinner and entertainment featuring professional German dancers and a men’s sing-a-long choir singing traditional German songs. Meal: D
Day 2  Scotland, France, Lithuania and Ireland
Begin the day 1903 Joslyn Castle, a massive 30-room stone mansion filled with Scottish traditions, kilts and dancers. At the Omaha Culinary Arts Institute, learn about France’s culture while lunching on French cuisine. We take a break at the Lithuanian Bakery where our hosts share their traditions and their tasty torts! The day ends aboard the riverboat River City Star with an Irish buffet, and Irish entertainment. Day 3  The Ukraine, Soul Food and Mexico
The day begins at breakfast where we learn about traditional Ukrainian Ritual Cloths with speaker Olesia Reprichowskyj. Then we visit Outlook Nebraska Inc., a local company where most of the employees are blind, yet operate machinery which produces toilet paper for all the U.S. military bases. Enjoy lunch at Big Mama’s Kitchen. Featuring traditional Soul Food, it has been featured on TV’s Food Channel. On a narrated driving tour of Omaha we drive past Warren Buffett’s home, through the historic Old Market and stop at Pioneer Courage Park with its life-size 1850’s wagon train sculpture. Dinner is on your own tonight in Omaha’s warehouse district. Walk the cobblestone streets lined with over 30 restaurants, pubs and shops. Then, enjoy the traditional dances and elaborate costumes of the Ballet Folklorico Mexicano. Meals: B, L
Day 4  Omaha Zoo, Poland, Boys Town and Greece
We begin the day the Omaha Zoo, one of the top five in the nation. See the world’s largest indoor swamp, desert dome and indoor jungle. You can even walk is a glass tube across a valley of gorillas. Lunch is in a Polish home complete with entertainment. We also visit Boys Town. An actual working town, Boys Town is the creation of Father Flanagan and was the subject of the 1930s movie starring Spencer Tracy Mickey Rooney. See the museum, chapel and the restored 1920s home of Father Flanagan. After a break at the hotel, we arrive at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church for a homemade Greek dinner and dance performance. Tour the Byzantine-style church, see the gold décor and learn the meaning of the icons. Enjoy a delicious dinner and have fun learning traditional Greek dancing. Meals: B, L, D
Day 5  Travel Home
Return home with a warm memories of our multi-cultural adventure. Meal: B
