Downers Grove, IL – May 18, 2015 – In 2016, the National Park Service is celebrating its 100th anniversary and Mayflower Tours wants to tell people that 2016 is a GREAT year to visit America’s National Parks. Mayflower Tours announced their partnership between Tourism Cares and the National Park Service with this philanthropic effort in support of financial investments in the parks and with the National Park Foundation, volunteerism, advocacy and communications for our national parks.
“Tourism Cares also recognized the impact of this, and since Tourism Cares is heavily interested in the Parks, they came up with the idea to make contributions through tour operators who bring people to the parks,” stated Mike Rea, CEO and President of Tourism Cares
“As an active member of Tourism Cares, along with our continued support of their ongoing work throughout our planet, Mayflower Tours has decided to participate in their philanthropic effort and will donate, on behalf of our travelers, $5 per person for every National Park they visit with us in 2016” said John Stachnik, President and Co-owner of Mayflower Tours. “To understand how the Mayflower Tours donation will be remitted, it will be based on the number of national parks in the itinerary. So, if a tour visits four National Parks, then Mayflower Tours will donate $20 each for every person on that tour.”
To announce the partnership and the donation, Mayflower Tours has dedicated space in their 2015 - 2016 Holidays by Motorcoach Brochure and the 2016 North America Air Holidays brochure that prominently details the Centennial and the donation with a description and an icon in the index to direct the traveler to the holidays featuring National Parks. Also, on each page in the brochure and on the Mayflower Tours website with a holiday that includes a National Park, the following information is displayed:
Visit (Two, Three, Four) National Parks on this Tour
For every Mayflower Tours National Park traveler in 2016 we will donate on their behalf ($10, $15, $20) to Tourism Cares to support its work with the National Parks.
