Dear Traveler(s),
This letter is regarding your upcoming New England Rails and Sails tour with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. We are sorry to inform you that there have been some last minutes changes to the itinerary due to many vendors deciding to either cease operation for this year or operating on specific day or the week only instead of daily operations.
The following components of the itinerary will not operate:
- The Essex Steam Train and the Riverboat Becky Thatcher Cruise. The train ride is 20 minutes, then a one-hour cruise, then a 20-minute train ride back. These two components work together, and the vendor has decided they will only operate on Friday through Monday instead of daily operations as planned. Your departure happens to be outside this day parameter.
- The Green Mountain Railroad decided to not operate for the rest of 2021 due to COVID situation.
- The Norman Rockwell stop will not happen also as they are not allowing groups to enter.
What we have added:
- Calvin Coolidge Homestead Stop
- Mystic Seaport Stop in Mystic CT
- Old Sturbridge Village
You will still be able to experience the following.
- Maine Narrow-Gauge Railroad
- Conway Scenic Railroad
- Cruise Portland’s Casco Bay
- Captain John Whale Watching Cruise
We are also offering a refund of $75 per person due to the missing components listed above which will be sent to you once the tour departs.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are operating during COVID times when many companies are scaling back or ceasing operations for the year. The rest of the tour is planned to operate as scheduled and as always, we thank you for your patronage.
