I
am seated on the deck of the 100-passenger vessel, the
MV Galapagos Legend,
thinking how very lucky we are to experience Ecuador
and the Galapagos Islands.
What makes this destination so very unique and special?
There are so many reasons – but a few stand out: |

The
absolute commitment to keeping this area pristine and
environmentally safe. To do this, the Ecuadorian National
Parks system controls the Galapagos Islands. |

No
more than two water vessels can be at one particular island
at the same time. |
|
There
is always a guide with the travelers, helping to protect
the environment. |
|
Animals
are left alone - therefore they are everywhere. We get
to observe them in their natural habitat. They are never
in danger from humans. |
|
The
National Parks guides are very informative as they educate
us on the area. |
|
Each
day, you go in a smaller boat and tour a particular island
in the Galapagos archipelago. Strolling among the sea
lions on the beach, looking for iguanas, hiking and learning
about the flora and fauna are some of our treats each
day. |

Most
of your travelers, as well as ours, have NEVER experienced
anything of this nature before. |
|
Will
we add Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands to our list
of programs? We are working on that right now –
talking to our product managers, our call center, and
most importantly, to you, the distributor of our product
and the lifeline to our travelers. Mayflower loves new
destinations…and Ecuador and the Galapagos is
looking more and more like a “must see”
addition.
