Day 1 Depart the USA
Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Seville, Spain, the charismatic capital of Andalusia.
Day 2 Seville, Spain
Upon arrival in Seville, you’ll be met by a Mayflower Cruises & Tours representative and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore this remarkable city. Your Tour Manager will be available to offer suggestions and assist with your sightseeing plans. Tonight enjoy the welcome dinner with your fellow travelers. Meal: D
Day 3 Tour of Seville
After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Seville where you see the Guadalquivir River, Torre del Oro and Maria Luisa Park. Continue to old Seville and Barrio de Santa Cruz for a walking tour with entrance to the Cathedral and Royal Alcazares. The afternoon is at leisure before attending a Flamenco show this evening. Feel the heart-pounding rhythm and cultural passion displayed by the dancers as you become immersed in this life enriching experience. Meal: B
Day 4 Córdoba
This morning, depart for an included excursion to the impressive city of Córdoba. On the way, stop at a local olive oil mill to learn a bit more about Andalusian Gold, the different types of olive oils, how they are elaborated and even taste a few samples. Continue to Córdoba for a guided walking tour of this magnificent Andalusian jewel. See the entrance to the Great Mosque with its labyrinth of columns and the old Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter. There is free time for lunch on your own before returning to Seville mid-afternoon to enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Meal: B
Day 5 Seville to Madrid, via Toledo
After breakfast, depart Seville by motorcoach for Madrid. Enroute, make a stop in Toledo, one of the Spanish cities with the greatest wealth of monuments. Upon arrival in Madrid, begin with a panoramic tour featuring the city’s main streets and boulevards like the Gran Via and Paseo de la Castellana, the beautiful fountains of Cibeles and Neptuno, the exterior of the 2000 room Royal Palace and Old Madrid with its impressive Plaza Mayor. Day 6 Prado Museum
Today is all about art with an included visit to the Prado museum. Featuring an impressive collection by Spanish Masters such as Goya, Murillo, El Greco and Velazquez, you’re sure to see some recognizable masterpieces up close and personal. Enjoy the afternoon and evening at leisure in Madrid with an opportunity to experience the culture on your own. Meal: B
Day 7 Madrid to Barcelona via high-speed train
Following breakfast, bid farewell to Madrid and transfer to the Atocha Rail Station to board a high-speed train. Journey across north central Spain to the region of Catalonia and its capital city, Barcelona - an enchanting seaside city with boundless culture, fabled architecture, and world-class dining. After free time for lunch on your own, the afternoon panoramic tour features highlights of the city. See the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, Montjuich with its impressive city views and Plaza de España. Marvel at Gaudi’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, during the inside visit of this magnificent landmark. After the tour, the remainder of the day is free to experience its culture and culinary delights on your own. Meal: B
Day 8 Barcelona, Girona, Figueres and Salvador Dalí Museum tour
Close to Barcelona, located midway between the sea and the mountains,is the beautiful town of Girona. Visit The Old Town, one of the most evocative historical centers in Catalonia, with certain elements that are unique in Europe: the Carolingian wall, an exceptionally well conserved Jewish quarter, and the grandeur of the Cathedral’s Gothic nave, the widest in the world. Enjoy free time in Girona for lunch on your own. This afternoon visit Figueres, a city synonymous with Salvador Dalí, where you visit his museum that houses over 1,400 of the great artist’s works. Day 9 Barcelona
The day is yours to shop along Las Ramblas, take a boat excursion or any other leisure activity. Tonight, reminisce about your life enriching experiences in Spain at a farewell dinner in a local restaurant with your fellow travelers. Meals: B, D
