 Itinerary
Day 1  Nashville, Tennessee
Relax and enjoy the autumn scenery of Indiana and Kentucky en route to Nashville. (Dinner)
Day 2  Rock City Gardens and German Festhalle
Stop at the amazing Rock City Gardens for a visit. Located atop Lookout Mountain, Rock City is a true marvel of nature featuring over 400 native plants and breathtaking views. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains is the Alpine village of Helen, Georgia, home to the largest Oktoberfest celebration in the southeast. In the evening, all paths lead to the festhalle, the spot for authentic German music, food, drink and fun that reflects the region’s strong German influence. (Breakfast and dinner)
Day 3  Anna Ruby Falls and Appalachia
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Helen with its quaint shops and beautiful scenery. You make a stop this morning at Anna Ruby Falls, one of the many beautiful waterfalls in the area. The afternoon is free to explore Helen on your own and this evening return to the festhalle to enjoy more of the German festival. (Breakfast and dinner)
Day 4  Museum of Appalachia and Boone Tavern
Begin the day with a stop at the Museum of Appalachia, which depicts the history of the Appalachian people. Be sure to see the popular Appalachian Hall of Fame Building and the People’s Building, with over a quarter million items. End the day in Berea, Kentucky, the folk arts and craft capital of the state. Dinner is at the historic Boone Tavern, built in 1909 to accommodate visitors to Berea College. (Breakfast and dinner)
Day 5  Home
Return home today with memories of Oktoberfest and Appalachia. (Breakfast)
