Introducing the Mayflower Photo Tour & Workshop series. We have combined a Guided Touring Experience with an Instructor-led Photography Workshop where photographers and their companions can travel together on one inclusive touring holiday.
Day 1 Arrive in Tennessee
Everyone arrives in Nashville today. Meet your Tour Manager, Workshop Instructor and fellow travelers for a Welcome “Kick Back” dinner and drinks at the Drury Inn beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meal: Drury Dinner
Day 2 Bush’s Beans and Hatfields & McCoys Dinner Show
Everyone departs for Pigeon Forge. En route, a stop is made at a local institution,
the A. J. Bush Company. Learn the history of this amazing company best known for their baked beans, grab a souvenir in their gift shop and maybe even grab a bite in the Bush’s Family Café. Later, arrive in Pigeon Forge where an evening of great food and fun Tennessee entertainment awaits at the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show featuring down-home cooking and toe-tappin’ music. Meals: B, D
Day 3 Titanic Museum and Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Tour companions begin the day at the world’s largest museum attraction, the Titanic Museum. This unforgettable hands-on experience features over 400 artifacts from the doomed vessel. Then, meet up with the photographers for an on own lunch at the new “Island in Pigeon Forge,” the region’s
big and beautiful walkable shopping and entertainment complex. Later, a local guide joins you for a drive through the breathtaking beauty of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Rich in wildflowers, lush forests,
waterfalls and rivers the park’s highlight is a visit to Clingman’s Dome which offers scenic views of the mist-covered mountains. Meals: B, D
Photographers are up early for their first venture into Great Smoky Mountains National Park and shooting at Roaring Fork with its fast-moving water, waterfalls and thick foliage. Late afternoon shooting is in Cades Cove and sunset is atop Clingman’s Dome for the signature stacked ridges.
Day 4 The Biltmore Estate
Tour companions cross over to North Carolina today to visit the Biltmore Estate,
America’s largest home set on 8,000 acres of Blue Ridge Mountain beauty. This George Vanderbilt-built 250-room home features magnificent art, antiques and architecture. Enjoy a tour of this spectacular home whose elegance and charm is as magnificent today as it was more than a century ago. You will also enjoy an included lunch at the Estate. Later, return to Pigeon Forge and meet up with the photographers to share your adventure. Meals: B, L
Photographers are back in the park in the Tremont area this morning. This area is rich in waterfalls, rushing streams and a smattering of wildflowers. Huge river boulders, crystal clear water and natural pools make for prime shooting. Late afternoon shooting is back in another region of Tremont.
Day 5 Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tram and Gatlinburg
Tour companions begin the day by climbing aboard the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tram for a thrilling ride to one of the best observation points in the Smokies. Soar to over 11,000 feet above Gatlinburg on the 2.1-mile long ride to the top. Then enjoy some free time in the quaint mountain town of Gatlinburg.
Experience the history, beauty and nostalgia of the small town nestled in the Smoky Mountains. There are many galleries, unique craft shops and restaurants throughout the town. Then, gather with the photographers for an early dinner together before they go off for their final shoot. Meals: B, D
Photographers are back in the park in the Greenbriar area for some of the best wildflower shooting as well as Ramsay Cascade waterfall and Porters Creek. Midday is dedicated to Digital Darkroom Workflow Sessions. An early dinner with the companions then back into the park for the final shooting session. Destination to be decided based on weather and light conditions.
Day 6 Travel Home
After breakfast, your group transfer takes everyone to Nashville International Airport for flights home after 2:00 p.m. Meal: B
