Day 1  Depart the USA
Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Johannesburg, the wealthiest province in South Africa.
Day 2  Johannesburg, South Africa
Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a Mayflower Cruises & Tours representative and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to begin getting acquainted with the unique culture of South Africa.
Day 3  Johannesburg – Krueger area:
Departing Johannesburg, travel by coach to the Kruger National Park area where amazing animal adventures await! This afternoon, experience your first game-viewing drive in search of the “Big Five” – lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros. Meals: B, D
Day 4  Thornybush Game Reserve
Today you have more opportunities to witness the majestic wildlife of Africa on your morning and afternoon open-vehicle, guided, game-viewing drives through the breathtaking scenery of the private reserve. Meals: B, L, D
Day 5  Krueger area – Cape Town
Time permitting, enjoy a final game-viewing drive this morning before breakfast. Late morning, transfer to the local airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival, a local representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Meal: B
Day 6  Cape Town
Exploration begins with a guided tour as you drive through the historical and cultural areas of the city seeing key monuments and places of interest. Continue to Table Mountain, Cape Town’s most iconic destination. Ascend to the summit via the Aerial Cableway and be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding oceans and city below.

On Robben Island, once synonymous with institutional brutality, learn of its 500-year multi-layered history from your guide, a former political prisoner. The tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell. Return to Cape Town for an evening at leisure. Meal: B
Day 7  Cape Peninsula
While visiting the famous Cape of Good Hope, the most south-western point of the African continent, discover the rich biodiversity of life – both flora and fauna. Baboons, Cape Mountain Zebra and other small animals and birds can be found, as well as beautiful scenery. At the Cape Point Nature Reserve (a Natural World Heritage Site) ride the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the old lighthouse for fantastic views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and breathe the purest air in the world. This is truly a life enriching experience! After an included lunch, you won’t find a better combination of beach and wildlife than you do at Boulders Beach. Hundreds of Jackass Penguins waddle freely amongst the human ‘visitors’ on the white sand beach. Have your camera ready! Meals: B, L
Day 8  Cape Town – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
After breakfast, depart for the airport and your flight to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, a local representative will assist with clearing airport procedures and the transfer to the hotel. The afternoon and evening are at leisure. Meal: B
Day 9  Victoria Falls
Depart for an amazing excursion to Victoria Falls where you’ll stand in awe of nature’s supreme masterpiece. A local guide will accompany you through the rainforest, detailing the history of the falls and the flora, fauna, bird and wildlife that abounds.

This afternoon, enjoy a spectacular sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. Relax as the vessel meanders along the river, providing views of wildlife in their natural habitat. This evening experience a special treat at the Boma dinner featuring Zimbabwean dishes and entertainment by traditional dancers and singers. Meals: B, D
Day 10  Victoria Falls – Chobe, Botswana
Depart Victoria Falls by coach for Botswana’s Chobe National Park. After lunch at the lodge, head out in search of elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard on an afternoon game-viewing drive. Meals: B, L, D
Day 11  Chobe National Park
Continue exploring on a morning cruise along the Chobe River, and an afternoon game-viewing drive. Keep an eye out for hippo, crocodiles and giraffe as nature continues to impress in this game-rich national park! Meals: B, L, D
Day 12  Chobe / USA
Begin the final day of your African adventure with a morning cruise along the Chobe River for one last look at the local beauty and up-close animal encounters. Checkout of the lodge and depart for the Kasane Airport and your flight to Johannesburg for onward connections. Memories and photographs of the special moments and unforgettable experiences are sure to last a lifetime! Meal: B

Passport & Visas – Each U.S. citizen must have a valid passport.  Expiry date of passports should be at least 6 months after the return date of tour. If you don’t have a passport, call our office and we’ll tell you how to apply for one. Some countries require visas for entry by U.S. citizens. We will send visa applications and instructions if a visa is required for your tour.  Holders of non-U.S. passports should contact their nearest consulate and inquire about the necessary passport or visa documentation required for entry into the countries visited.

NOTE: Due to airline security measures, your passport name must match your airline ticket name and your tour reservation name or you may be denied aircraft boarding.
