Day 1  Depart the USA
Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Hanoi, Vietnam.
Day 2  Hanoi, Vietnam
Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative of Mayflower and transferred to your hotel. This evening attend a tour briefing and welcome dinner. Meal: D
Day 3  Hanoi
On today’s included tour see the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and former home, the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, Vietnam’s first university, and walk through Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter. Following lunch at a unique restaurant that trains disadvantaged street children, attend a traditional water puppet performance and meet the puppeteers. Meals: B, L
Day 4  Hanoi / Halong Bay
Travel to Halong Bay, known for its stunning scenery and emerald water. Board your luxurious traditional-style junk for a two-night cruise through the bays and islets of this magnificent region and visit a fishing village to discover more about the main livelihood of the locals. An optional excursion to view this spectacular landscape by air on a seaplane will be available. Meals: B, L, D
Day 5   Halong Bay Cruise
Visit an islet to explore one of the many caves with impressive stalagmite and stalactite formations. Visit Cat Ba Island, the largest island in Halong Bay, consisting mainly of a national park. Tour the town and explore the verdant isle with a local guide. Meals: B, L, D
Day 6  Halong Bay / Ho Chi Minh City
Cruise to an island with beautiful beaches and panoramic lookouts before sailing back to the mainland. Transfer to Hanoi for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. More commonly known as Saigon, it is a city with a turbulent and colorful past, although today it is the country’s commercial center. Meals: B, L
Day 7  Ho Chi Minh City
Travel to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels. Join a Vietnamese Veteran and learn of the wars, strategies, atrocities and the resourcefulness of the Vietnamese which eventually led to victory. Your guide will relate fascinating stories from firsthand experience to offer insight into the Vietnam War. This evening there is a choice of optional excursions: Evening Street Food Walking Tour, or, Saigon – Old and New. Meal: B
Day 8  Ho Chi Minh City / My Tho
Begin the day on a guided city tour seeing Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, bustling Dong Khoi Street, Opera House, City Hall and the War Remnants Museum. Transfer to My Tho in the Mekong Delta to board the luxurious RV Mekong Navigator. Meals: B, D
Day 9  Cai Be / Sa Dec
Board traditional sampans and sail through Cai Be’s floating market, a fascinating and iconic scene of the Mekong Delta. Pass the French gothic cathedral, tour the historic Anh Kiet House, and visit a traditional rice factory. After lunch, re-board the sampans and observe the daily routines of villagers before stopping at a local brick factory. Upon arrival to Sa Dec, visit the home of Huynh Thuy Le, the inspiration for Marguerite Duras’ novel The Lover, and take a walk through the town’s market. Meals: B, L, D
Day 10  Tan Chau / Cambodia Border Crossing
Board a sampan and sail to the Cao Dai Temple, then board a Vietnamese ‘tuk tuk’ for a ride to a mat-weaving workshop. Cruise to a floating fish farm and visit a local village on Evergreen Island. Re-board the RV Mekong Navigator and sail to the border, Sous Sdei - welcome to Cambodia! Meals: B, L, D
Day 11  Phnom Penh
Cambodia’s capital was once known as the Pearl of Asia. Despite its turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm and today is an inspiring center of hope and opportunity. Meet your cyclo drivers for the city tour and journey to the magnificent Royal Palace complex and the National Museum, housing Angkorian and pre-Angkorian artifacts. Enjoy a cultural performance by the Cambodian Children’s Group, including Apsara, Cambodia’s national dance, and traditional folk dances. Optional excursions to visit the backstreets, temples and communities or a street food tour will be available. Meals: B, L, D
Day 12  Phnom Penh
Visit the Killing Fields, a disconcerting reminder of the recent atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge regime. Continue to the Tuoi Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school that was converted to the main prison and torture headquarters of the Khmer Rouge. Meals: B, L, D
Day 13  Angkor Ban
Visit the charming town of Angkor Ban to get a glimpse into the lives of the local people, starting with a visit to a family’s home to meet the family and discuss their lifestyle. Continue through the village to the local school and join the children in their classroom. Meals: B, L, D
Day 14  Wat Hanchey – Kampong Cham
Receive a traditional Buddhist Water Blessing from the monks as you visit the ancient hilltop pagoda of Wat Hanchey. Visit Phnom Pros, Phnom Srey, the reclining Buddha, the preaching Buddha and the 12th-century, Angkorian-period complex of Wat Nokor Bachey. Return to the ship and enjoy a farewell reception and Royal Cambodian-themed dinner. Meals: B, L, D
Day 15  Kampong Cham – Siem Reap
Bid farewell to the RV Mekong Navigator and transfer from Kampong Cham to Siem Reap, gateway to the magnificent Temples of Angkor. This evening witness the incredible Phare Cambodian Circus, a spectacle of acrobatics, theatre and music. Optional excursions to discover out-lying temples or taking a Cambodian cooking class will be available. Meal: B
Day 16  Angkor Temples
Visit Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its elaborate decorations and intricate carvings on the temples. Continue to the unique Ta Prohm Temple and visit the impressive Bayon Temple which contains 54 towers, each with four faces. Finish at the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, known for their intricate bas –reliefs. Meals: B, D
Day 17  Depart Siem Reap
It’s time to say goodbye to Asia and transfer to the Siem Reap airport for you homebound flight. Meal: B

If you don’t have a passport, call our office and we’ll tell you how to apply for one. Some countries require visas for entry by U.S. citizens. We will send visa applications and instructions if a visa is required for your tour. Holders of non-U.S. passports should contact their nearest consulate and inquire about the necessary passport or visa documentation required for entry into the countries visited.
