Day 1  Depart the USA
Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Day 2  Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Welcome to Amsterdam, a fascinating 700-year-old city of picturesque canals, world class museums, theatres and cafés, where your journey into wonder begins. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your Scenic vessel. Relax and raise your glass to the days ahead at this evening’s welcome reception. Meal: D
Day 3  Amsterdam / Cruising
The day begins with your choice of Freechoice activities. Experience an iconic canal cruise or enjoy a slice of quintessential Holland at Zaanse Schans, with its windmills and open-air conservation area. Alternatively, make the most of your free time by walking or cycling through the city, and letting your Tailormade GPS device open your eyes to its many key attractions. Return to the ship for your first day sailing through the Dutch countryside, passing windmills and sailing through locks towards the Rhine River. Meals: B, L, D
Day 4  Cologne, Germany
Cruise along the Rhine River to Cologne. Founded by the Romans, the city is one of Germany's oldest and famous for its magnificent World Heritage listed gothic Cathedral. Your Freechoice activities include taking a stroll through Cologne to get up-close to the filigree twin towers of the famous cathedral. Alternatively, enjoy a taste experience lecture onboard the ship. Whatever you choose, it’s a great day to see and discover. ENRICH: Delight in the medieval ambience of Marksburg Castle, which has remained virtually unchanged since the Middle-Ages. Partake in a magnificent medieval feast, with an abundance of fine fare and quantities of free-flowing local red wine. Day 5  Rhine Gorge / Rüdesheim, Germany
Today’s cruising may be a highlight as you witness the unrivalled views of the spectacular World Heritage-listed Rhine Gorge and pass the infamous Lorelei Rock. Keep your camera ready to capture the stunning vistas of castles perched atop steep vine-covered slopes. Alight in Rüdesheim and board the Winzerexpress mini-train that takes you to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Visit this unique museum then board a cable car to ride to the Niederwald Monument for spectacular views of the river below. Meals: B, L, D
Day 6  Cruising
Soak in the vistas of the Main River as you spend a full day relaxing onboard. Allow the passing scenery to mesmerize you from the comfort of your suite, the lounge or Sun Deck. Commentary from your Scenic Tailormade device will describe the captivating view unfolding before you in vivid detail. Or, simply indulge in the onboard amenities of your 5-star floating hotel. Day 7  Würzburg, Germany
Set amongst sloping, vineyard-covered hills, Würzburg is known as the “Pearl of the Romantic Road.” Your Freechoice activities include: a visit to the Bishops’ Residenz, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you sample some exquisite local wine. OR, explore the famous Romantic Road, an important trade route during the Middle-Ages, followed by a visit to the beautiful walled town of Rothenburg, a medieval gem overlooking the Tauber River. Day 8  Bamberg, Germany
Relax onboard this morning while cruising to Bamberg. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the Old Town of Bamberg, one of Europe’s largest intact medieval town centers, and a UNESCO World Heritage city, alive with history. Along with your local guide, walk the same cobbled streets as medieval traders once did. During your leisure time, you might like to savor the traditional smoked beer of the region. Meals: B, L, D
Day 9  Nuremberg, Germany
There are three Freechoice activities in Nuremberg: discover the city on an orientation tour, including a self-guided visit of the Dokumentation Center. OR, focus on the Old Town with a walking tour and sampling of a glass of beer. The final choice is to attend a hands-on gingerbreadmaking cooking class. Meals: B, L, D
Day 10  Regensburg, Germany
As one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities, Regensburg offers a rich tapestry of experiences. Your Freechoice activities are: enjoy a walking tour, or hop onboard a local ferry and sail the Danube Gorge to Weltenburg Abbey and sample beer from one of the oldest monastic breweries in the world. You can also take a leisurely cycle on your own, with your Tailormade GPS device, to the Walhalla Monument. Meals: B, L, D
Day 11  Passau, Germany (Salzburg, Austria)
ENRICH: Let the ‘Best of The Sound of Music and Salzburg Show’ transport you to another time and place. Based on the timeless movie of the same name, this exclusive production is performed in the rolling hills of Salzburg and will wow you with its stage sets. Enjoy an authentic Austrian lunch before an afternoon of humming along to some of the catchy classics. Meals: B, L, D
Day 12  Melk / Dürnstein, Austria
Situated within Austria’s wine–growing region, Melk is home to an imposing 900–year old Benedictine Abbey featuring Austria’s finest Italian baroque architecture. Freechoice: experience the Abbey on a guided tour. Alternatively, the more active can embark on an enjoyable guided bike ride along the river from Melk to one of the most enchanting villages in the region, Dürnstein. Or, visit a local winery for a guided tour and tasting of its fine wines. SUNDOWNER: as the day ends, enjoy drinks and a fine view of the breathtakingly beautiful Wachau Valley. Meals: B, L, D
Day 13  Vienna, Austria
Acquaint yourself with this opulent city by taking a fascinating guided tour of its most famous sights, including the Ringstrasse. ENRICH: breathe in the opulence and luxury of Palais Liechtenstein while enjoying a glass of fine Austrian Sekt. Then be enthralled by an enchanting private Viennese evening concert featuring the timeless music of Strauss and Mozart. Even in elegant Vienna, Palais Liechtenstein is one of the grandest of all venues. Meals: B, L, D
Day 14  Vienna
Today’s Freechoice activities are: take a guided tour of Bratislava, Slovakia, or Schönbrunn Palace, and witness the sheer opulence of the Habsburg Empire. Alternatively, visit the world-renowned Spanish Riding School for either a tour of the stables or to see the famous Lipizzaner Stallions perfecting their skills during their morning exercise program. Or, you might wish to explore this majestic city on a guided cycling tour. Meals: B, L, D
Day 15  Budapest, Hungary
The final day of your cruise is spent in Budapest, one of Europe’s oldest and prettiest cities. Choose from your Freechoice activities: a guided tour of the city including a piano concert; relax and unwind at the Thermal Baths and Spa; or experience the labyrinths of the Hospital in the Rock. Meals: B, L, D
Day 16  Budapest, Hungary
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the Captain and crew as you disembark the ship for your transfer to the Budapest Airport. Meal: B

If you don’t have a passport, call our office and we’ll tell you how to apply for one. Some countries require visas for entry by U.S. citizens. We will send visa applications and instructions if a visa is required for your tour. Holders of non-U.S. passports should contact their nearest consulate and inquire about the necessary passport or visa documentation required for entry into the countries visited. NOTE: Due to airline security measures, your passport name must match your airline ticket name and your tour reservation name or you may be denied aircraft boarding.
