Welcome to Amsterdam, a fascinating 700-year-old city of
picturesque canals, world-class museums, theaters and cafés, where
your journey into wonder begins. You will be met at the airport and
transferred to your Scenic vessel. Relax and raise your glass to the
days ahead at this evening’s welcome reception.

3 Amsterdam
The day begins with your choice of four Freechoice activities.
Explore Amsterdam on a guided walking tour, pausing along the way
to sample the Dutch delicacy, herring. OR, cruise the iconic canals
that have made Amsterdam world famous. Alternatively, discover
charming Volendam, with its unusual raised homes and quaint
wooden church, before heading to the equally charming village of
Edam.
Or if you are feeling more active, join a guided cycling tour.
Return to the ship for your first day sailing through the Dutch
countryside, passing windmills, and sailing through locks towards
the Rhine River.

4 Cologne, Germany
Cruise along the Rhine River to Cologne. Founded by the Romans,
the city is one of Germany's oldest and famous for its magnificent
UNESCO World–Heritage listed Gothic cathedral. Your Freechoice
activities include a scenic ride on the oldest cog railway in Germany
and discovery of the splendid Drachenburg Castle, OR, stroll
through Cologne to get up close to the filigree twin towers of the
famous cathedral.
Alternatively, stay onboard for a beer tasting or
learn the history of the city’s most famous namesake, Eau de Cologne
on a guided tour.

5 Koblenz, Germany
Cruise to the 2000-year-old town of Koblenz, situated at the
confluence of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers. Today’s Freechoice activities include a guided tour of Koblenz OR discovering Cochem –
a true medieval gem resting on the banks of the Moselle River.
Cochem will make you feel as if you’re stepping straight into a
fairytale as you explore this charming city on a guided tour including
a visit of Reichsburg Castle.
Alternatively, visit a local winery and
sample some of the fine wines of this region, OR take a guided
cycling tour.

6 Mannheim (Heidelberg), Germany
Continue to the town of Mannheim, located at the confluence of the
Rhine and Neckar Rivers. From there, you have a choice of two
Freechoice activities for Heidelberg. Join a local guide on a historic
tour of Heidelberg including a visit to the Renaissance castle. The
castle ruins are among the most important Renaissance structures
north of the Alps. OR, join a guide for a stroll through the city
center on an orientation tour, followed by leisure time.
This evening, enjoy a private concert at a fine Baroque palace. It will be
an evening of grandeur unlike any other and a chance to create
memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

7 Rastatt (Baden Baden), Germany
Famous for its Roman baths, Baden Baden is a charming town in the
Black Forest. There are three options for today’s Freechoice activities
from the port of Rastatt. Join a local guide on a tour of this
picturesque town and tour the ruins of the Roman baths that made
this city famous. OR, take an active hike to the ruins of
Hohenbaden Castle (also known as Altes Schloss) where you can
find dungeons and climb the stairs for an incredible view of the
Black Forest, Baden Baden and Rhine Valley.
Alternatively, visit the
Mercedes-Benz factory for a ‘behind the scenes’ look at what goes
into building these cars.

8 Strasbourg, France
During today’s port call in Strasbourg, the capital of the Alsace region
in France, you have three options of Freechoice activities. On a
guided walking tour, see La Petite France and stroll through the Old
Town with its half-timbered houses and distinctive Alsatian winstubs.
Alternatively, journey to Mittelbergheim in the Alsace and
sample some of the best wines the region has to offer. OR, see and
learn about how people lived and worked in the Black Forest region
centuries ago during a visit to the Vogtsbauernhof Open Air
Museum.

9 Basel, Switzerland
It’s time to bid ‘auf wiedersehen’ to Europe and return home with
memories of life enriching experiences from your cruise along the
Rhine River. After breakfast, disembark the ship and transfer to the
