Day 2 – San Francisco Touring and Bay Cruise: Embark on a guided tour of San Francisco and see many of the landmarks that made the city known throughout the world. See Union Square, Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown and the world’s most crooked street, Lombard Street. In the afternoon, set sail on a narrated San Francisco Bay cruise, taking in the city’s waterfront, Fort Mason, the Presidio, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Tonight, dinner is on Fisherman’s Wharf capping off a memorable day. Meal: B, D

Day 3 – Jelly Bellys and Vezer Winery: Just across the famed Golden Gate Bridge is Vista Point. A stop here offers spectacular views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. In of the heart of Suisun Valley lies the town of Fairfield. During a stop at the beautiful Blue Victorian Tasting Room of Vezer Winery you will learn the ins and outs of California wine-making. Tour the winery, see the barrel room and have a delicious included lunch. Fairfield is also home to the Jelly Belly Candy Company. Take the self-guided walking tour of the factory, sample the sweet treats and shop in the store. Did you know it takes 2 weeks to make a single Jelly Belly jelly bean? Later, arrive in Sacramento for a three-night stay. Meal: L, D

Day 4 – Gold Bug Mine, Boeger Winery and Sutter’s Fort Pioneer Dinner: California first came into prominence during the Gold Rush. At Gold Bug Park don your hard hat and venture into the Gold Bug Mine, an excellent example of hard rock gold mining dating back to 1888. With solid wooden flooring, ample lighting and clean, cool air the mine is a unique attraction. Spend time in nearby Placerville for lunch on your own before a wine tasting at Boeger Winery. One of the state’s first producers of varietal Merlot, Boeger is a pioneer of innovative variety blends. Back in Sacramento there is time to freshen up before tonight’s Pioneer Dinner at Sutter’s Fort Historic State Park. Enjoy a delicious bar-b-que dinner while touring the historic buildings, conversing with period-costumed guides and even a real working blacksmith, a fitting end to this historic day. Meals: B, D

Day 5 – Old Sacramento, Old Sugar Mill and Old Vine Express: Begin the day at the California Capitol Building where a tour shows you its extensive collection of statues, paintings and portraits. In Old Sacramento, a National Historic Landmark District, sits the California State Railroad Museum. Here, learn the importance the “iron horse” played in connecting California with the rest of the nation. In the Old Sugar Mill, a former beet-sugar refinery are 15 world class wineries. Take your pick of two wineries to sample with your included vouchers. In the evening, climb aboard the Old Vine Express where a private “Meet the Vintner” event featuring a small wine tasting and snacks await. Then, enjoy dinner and more wine tastings as the train gently rolls along through scenic farmland along the Sacramento River. Meals: B, D

Day 6 – Return Home: Your tour ends with a group transfer to the Sacramento International Airport for flights home after 11:00 a.m.
