The 136th Tournament of Roses Parade
The 136th Tournament of Roses Parade, scheduled for January 1, 2025, in Pasadena, California, promises a vibrant showcase of global cultures and talents. This year’s theme, “Best Day Ever!”, will be brought to life by a diverse array of participants, including marching bands, equestrian units, and special performances. As with previous Rose Bowl Parades, this one will incorporate several differeent bands, performers and groups from across the country and the globe.

Marching Bands
Twenty exceptional bands from around the world are set to grace the parade route, each selected for their outstanding musicianship and marching prowess. Highlights include:
- 605 All Star Band: A composite ensemble from Southern California, uniting students from multiple high schools along the 605 Freeway. This collaboration, born out of pandemic challenges, features 407 members, making it one of the largest bands to march in the Rose Parade.
- Kyoto Tachibana High School Green Band: Hailing from Kyoto, Japan, this renowned all-female marching band, affectionately known as the “Orange Devils,” is celebrated for their energetic performances and unique blend of Western music genres.
- Helsingør Pigegarde (Elsinore Girls Marching Band): From Hornbaek, Denmark, this ensemble merges traditional military music with modern melodies, embodying the Danish spirit of “hygge” in their performances.
Additional participants include university bands such as the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band and the Jackson State University “Sonic Boom of the South,” as well as international groups like Banda de Música Herberto López Colegio José Daniel Crespo from Panama.
Equestrian Units
Equestrian units have been a cherished component of the Rose Parade since its inception in 1890. This year, 18 diverse groups will showcase various horse breeds and riding styles. Notable participants include:
- Budweiser Clydesdales: The iconic team from St. Louis, Missouri, known for their majestic presence and precision.
- First Cavalry Division, Horse Cavalry Detachment: Representing Fort Cavazos, Texas, this unit brings historical military traditions to life.
- Mini Therapy Horses: Based in Calabasas, California, this group highlights the therapeutic benefits of miniature horses, showcasing their gentle nature and community service.
Special Performances
The parade will feature captivating performances, including a mid-parade show presented by Explore Louisiana, featuring rising country artist Timothy Wayne performing “Louisiana Saturday Night.” The grand finale, presented by Mansion Entertainment Group, will showcase pop icon Debbie Gibson, singer-songwriter Betty Who, and dancers from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, celebrating its 25th anniversary.
