A Carolina Christmas
Day 1: Arrive in North Carolina
Arrive in Greensboro with a transfer to your hotel. Meet your Tour Manager and traveling companions at 6:00 p.m. for a welcome dinner. Meal: D
Day 2: Greensboro Trolley and Tasting Tour
Begin the day with a narrated Trolley Tour of “The Gate City,” Greensboro followed by a Downtown Tasting Tour to discover locally-owned restaurants and food shops, while learning about the city’s history and architecture. Then, stop at the historic 1880’s Brookhaven Mill Farms with its lovely Victorian gazebo and old-timey farm store to shop for fresh farm products and local artisan gifts. Meals: B, L
Day 3: Winston-Salem, Körner’s Folly and Old Salem Museums
On a guided tour today see the R.J. Reynolds Headquarters and the beautiful Graylyn Estate. Then visit Körner’s Folly, a historic home built in 1880 transformed into a winter wonderland with traditional Victorian decorations. Old Salem Museums and Gardens is a historic site relating the stories of people who built the region. After dinner, celebrate the magical glow of the Tanglewood Park Festival of Lights by driving through miles of dazzling displays all illuminated by over one million LED lights. Meals: B, D
Day 4: Andy Griffith’s “Mayberry”
Travel today to Mount Airy, the birthplace of Andy Griffith and the inspiration for the fictional town of “Mayberry.” See Andy’s childhood home, Wally’s Service Station and a replica of the Mayberry Jail. Then, see Floyd’s Barber Shop and enjoy lunch in historic downtown. Also, visit the Andy Griffith Museum as well as the museum dedicated to the “original” Siamese Twins Change and Eng. A stop at the Gertrude Smith Home and the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History complete the day. Meals: B, L
Day 5: Charlotte’s Fourth Ward and Christmas at the Billy Graham Library
Travel to Charlotte for a guided tour of the city’s historic Fourth Ward, with its Victorian mansions lining charming, shady streets. Then, tour the Billy Graham Library for their Christmas at the Library experience. Learn the story of Billy Graham’s life while enjoying the live Christmas Carolers, the live Nativity and a traditional Christmas Dinner featuring turkey, carved ham, cornbread stuffing and more. Day 6: Daniel Stowe Conservatory, Mint Museum and NarroWay Dinner Show
At the Daniel Stowe Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, see the stunning Garden Pavilion and explore the conservatory full of tropical plants, orchids and vibrant flower displays. The Mint Museum is the oldest art museum in North Carolina with over 35,000 objects in its collection. Stop at the 1815 Historic Rosedale House and Gardens. Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner and rousing live show at NarroWay Dinner and Show. NarroWay offers a variety of original Broadway-style musicals, Biblical productions and Holiday shows. Meals: B, D
Day 7: Travel Home
Bid a fond farewell to Carolina with a group transfer to Charlotte Douglas International Airport for flights out after 11:00 a.m. Meal: B
