 Itinerary
Day 1  Arrive in Portland
Welcome to Portland, Oregon, the “City of Roses” to begin your Pacific Coast Journey. Meet your Tour Manager at 5:00 p.m. and get to know your fellow travelers during a welcome dinner. Meal: D
Day 2  Columbia River Gorge Touring
This morning a guided tour of Portland includes the downtown area on the Willamette River, Old Town Historic District and famed International Rose Gardens. This afternoon features the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, where sheer cliffs rise as high as 2,000 feet! Spectacular views of the gorge will include historic Vista House, the splendid Multnomah Falls and the mammoth Bonneville Lock and Dam. Meal: B
Day 3  Explore the Oregon Coast
Today begins an exploration of the magnificent Oregon Coast with its’ beaches, sheer cliffs, and pounding surf. Stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory before taking the breathtaking Three Capes Scenic Drive. Nearby you will see the 1873 Yaquina Head Lighthouse, the tallest in the state. Meals: B, D
Day 4  Oregon Dunes Buggy Tour
Your coastal adventure continues in Florence where you will explore the fabulous 250-foot sand dunes at Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area by four-wheel-drive vehicle. A visit to the botanical gardens of Shore Acres State Park and a stop at a myrtlewood gift factory are also planned. Meal: B
Day 5  Crater Lake National Park
Today features the natural wonders of Crater Lake National Park, where rain and snow filled the empty caldera of an ancient volcano with brilliant blue waters to a depth of 1,932 feet, creating the deepest lake in North America. Follow the Western Rim Drive for unmatched panoramic views. Meals: B, D
Day 6  Rouge River Jetboat Trip and Redwoods
Following the spectacular Oregon coastline we come to Gold Beach where we embark on a jetboat excursion along the Rouge River. You’ll follow a portion of the old mailboat route before coming to northern California, home of Redwoods National Park. Continuing along the coastline through miles of giant forests, today’s destination is Eureka. Meals: B, D
Day 7  Avenue of the Giants and Wine Tasting
Departing Eureka this morning, drive along a portion of the “Avenue of the Giants,” through huge stands of magnificent redwoods in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. This afternoon, pass through the rich fertile grape growing region of California where a stop has been scheduled for a tasting at a local Estate Winery. This evening, check in to your hotel in the Fisherman’s Wharf area. Meals: B, L
Day 8  San Francisco Touring & Bay Cruise
A local guide joins you this morning for a sightseeing tour of the “City by the Bay,” San Francisco. Discover the many sights for which the city is renowned such as their bustling Chinatown, North Beach, Civic Center and the Financial District. Free time for browsing at Pier 39 begins the afternoon, before an invigorating cruise of San Francisco Bay. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight on Fisherman’s Wharf. Meals: B, D
Day 9  Travel Home
Depart for home from this memorable vacation with a group transfer to San Francisco International Airport for flights out after 12:00 p.m. Meal: B
